How eyes can be seen more serenely despite AMD.
Age-related macular degeneration is an underestimated common disease that no one should be helpless about.
„Age-related (or senile) macular degeneration“ (AMD) is a disease of the retina in which the only a few millimeters large area of the sharpest vision (macula) is increasingly damaged. In concrete terms, a regression (degeneration) and decay of tissue occurs until the death. In addition, pathological cell and vascular growths can form, which further impair the macular functions. Two different forms are distinguished:
- Dry macular degeneration: It leads to an increased deposition of metabolic end products. This worsens blood circulation and thus the metabolism. The most affected is the „Retinal Pigment Epithelium“ (RPE), a layer lying under the visual cells, which is responsible for their metabolism (supply/disposal).
- Moist macular degeneration: It can arise from the dry form by creating new vessels due to the limited metabolic function, which lift off the retina and lead to edema due to its increased water permeability.
Further information
Especially the eye needs a high oxygen consumption due to its strong mix-up. Often it is not known: After the heart and the brain, the eyes are the third strongest oxygen consumer in the organism. With an incipient macular degeneration, this is precisely the problem: less oxygen reaches its target, the blood circulation is disturbed and thus the pre-determining for optimal repair and regeneration conditions is lacking. Free oxygen radicals (aggressive oxygen compounds) can no longer be sufficiently disposed of.
One theory of amD is that this increasing amount of oxygen radical reactions in the center of the retina, in the area of the yellow spot (also called macula), triggers. The cells necessary for vision are damaged. Shadow formations, vision loss and edema on the retina can be the consequences.
Restoring the High Order of Nature
The naturopathic principle of spirovitalization with AIRNERGY starts right here: Oxygen is treated in a device modelled on photosynthesis. If you regularly breathe AIRNERGY with light breathing glasses or breathing headsets, this allows the eye to have a better metabolism. AIRNERGY spirovital therapy helps the eye to reactivate its self-healing powers. Harmful oxygen radicals are counteracted, symptoms such as shadow formations can be reduced by regular AIRNERGY breathing. Users repeatedly report an increased quality of life and greater well-being – and this without surgery or injections.
For a successful and sustainable therapy result, however, a healthy lifestyle is also the aim and high blood pressure as well as over-the-beaten-be-implication. In addition, a special AMD diet has proven its worth: vitamin C and E-rich foods in particular support the body in the fight against harmful oxygen radicals. The former include citrus fruits, blackcurrants and strawberries. Paprika, broccoli and sauerkraut mainly contain vitamin E. This is the only way to provide your body with the energy it needs.
Regular intake of living and non-denaturated food in combination with AIRNERGY spirovitalization has shown that these measures can lead to stopping progressive macular degeneration and restarting regeneration.

Spirovital therapy was awarded the „Science Award 2014“ by the IPO (International Prevention Organisation) as an essential part of the somatovital therapy concept. This has been a recognition of the efforts of renowned bodies to explore the scientific foundations that have been the basis for airNERGY’s success for about 15 years. The publication of the textbooks was also the basis for this. Below are some book excerpts on AMD. The books can be ordered through the bookshop.

Age-related macular degeneration & the ophthalmologist
„The indications where I use spirovital therapy are circulatory disorders of the retina as well as diseases of the optic nerve, including visual field failures after stroke. Patients receive five to ten treatments of 20 minutes each. Afterwards, visual field is examined, eye background examined and general well-being is asked. Overall, the response of the patients is very positive. Objectively, there are usually significant improvements in visual performance, sometimes up to two levels of visual acuity. Complaints are often significantly reduced, although rarely completely eliminated. The quality of life is generally significantly improved in most patients“.
Etiology – Pathogenesis (origin of age-related macular degeneration)
The causes of macular degeneration have not yet been clarified. It is discussed that virtually every person could be affected at the appropriate age, so that genes and environmental factors would „only“ determine the time of occurrence. Smoking, high blood pressure, obesity and excessive exposure to sunlight are the main risk factors. At the beginning of the disease, according to the unanimous opinion, there is an increased formation of oxygen radicals and their poor disposal (limited microcirculation), so that reactions are triggered in the center of the retina, which ultimately lead to the destruction of light-sensitive cells. At this stage, „dry“ macular degeneration is said to be the most common form (about 80 percent). In the „moist“ macular degeneration (approx. 20 percent), which can develop from the „dry“, small vessels sprout under the retina with formation of edema. They act as an insulating layer with the result that the oxygen supply to the retina continues to deteriorate. In summary, an excessive attack of acidic radicals on the one hand and an increasing restriction of an optimal oxygen supply on the other hand are mainly responsible for the development of AMD, indication of the possibilities of spirovitalization (supply of energized inhalation air) for their prevention or treatment.
Age-related macular degeneration in the clinic
Changes in the center of the retina can be detected ophthalmologically long before subjective restrictions occur, thus documenting the importance of appropriate preventive examinations. Subjective symptoms can be a distortion of straight lines (window frame, house wall), fading of colors, blurring of words (newspaper) and black (empty) places in the center of the visual field. Everyday activities such as reading, television, driving and recognizing faces are becoming more difficult, contrasts blur, contours distort. At the end of the day, only sketchy outlines can be seen. At first, only one eye may be affected, so the limitation is hardly noticeable.
General therapy for age-related macular degeneration
With regard to dry macular degeneration, especially its early form, it is currently argued almost unanimously that there is no specific therapy. However, attention should be paid to some general risk factors that may exist (smoking, high blood pressure, obesity, excessive exposure to sunlight). From a naturopathic point of view, moderate physical exercise therapy, in particular endurance sports, should be supplemented as preventive measures, additional consideration of an adequate diet (avoidance of saturated fatty acids, preference for monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids, adequate supply of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants) and a harmonious lifestyle (stress prevention or its timely degradation or compensation). This context provides clear indications of the importance of neutralizing oxygen radicals and improving the oxygen supply to the structures of the inner eye. Possibly also in the presence of a late form of „dry“, but above all the „wet“ macular degeneration, various therapeutic methods are propagated by the specialist societies: photodynamic therapy (PDT), laser therapy and photocoagulation, macu gen/ lucentis and avastin injections, peroral intake of vitamins and minerals, retinal rotation and macular translocation as well as cortisone/ triamcinolon injections. Alternative therapists supplement with various acupuncture procedures, radiotherapy, macular glasses and behavioural change. Time and again, patients point out that they have experienced severe visual field limitations due to non-conventional therapies, which they have consciously followed, to the point where they were able to resume many activities that they had to do without for years. The focus was on improving blood flow to the affected vessels as well as (and above all) the activation of retinal processes (which is always meant by this, but certainly aspects that go far beyond medical processes).
Spirovital therapy & age-related macular degeneration
It is recognized among experts that pathological metabolic processes on the one hand (increased formation of oxygen radicals in the macula, increased deposition there and/ or their reduced neutralization, delayed removal or metabolism), decreased oxygen supply of the particularly oxygen-dependent macular cells on the other hand (atheromatic and/ or atheiosclerotic processes of the leading arteries, functional circulatory disorders of the feeding arterioles and capillaries, run-off disturbances of the venols; thus reduced supply of oxygen, possibly delayed/ decreased release of oxygen and / or limited utilization of oxygen in the mitochondria) lead to the degeneration of the macula, in most cases initially to the „dry“ age-related AMD, over time possibly overthes to their „moist“ expression. Oxygen deficit and oxygen radicals play a decisive role in AMD, which has brought spirovitalization into the spotlight as a possible basic therapeutic therapy in the interest of many sufferers such as their therapists. The principle of spirovitalization consists in a short-term increase of the oxygen of the ambient air from the basic state (TripleletOxygen, 3O2) to a higher energy level (SinglegulettOxygen, 1O2) due to the action of light of specific wavelength in the presence of a selected special photosensitizer. However, this higher energy level of oxygen remains „only“ for fractions of a second until the energy released during relapse into the basic state is released to the water molecules of the air (energy conservation rate), inhaled together with the „normal“ atmospheric oxygen of the ambient air (water vapor-saturated inhalation air) and a ubiquitous distribution is initiated throughout the organism. For four vital, energy-dependent metabolic areas, these relationships are theoretically derived and practically confirmed by appropriate studies (increase in oxygen delivery, increase in oxygen utilization, stabilization of oxidative equilibrium, optimal provision of reduction equivalents). From the experience and findings that have been available and evaluated so far, it can be seen that the spirovitalization represents a complex intervention in the biocybernetic and bioenergetic functional processes of the organism, which, by harmonizing the basic regulation in the cell as well as in the extracellular matrix, leads to an improved oxygen supply into all structures and there to an increased O2Utilization and thus activates the cell’s own energy production (ATP) as well as the regulation of the cell metabolism in the entire organism. Preventively and curatively activated and supports the spirovitalization necessary bioregulatory processes in the sense of a holistic and universally applicable measure. As a basic therapeutic therapy, it accompanies and promotes prevention and rehabilitation, performance optimization and regeneration acceleration, clinical treatment concepts and interventions oriented towards school medicine.
Age-related macular degeneration – Conclusion
Macular degeneration is a slowly progressing damage to the most sensitive area of the retina on the posterior eye wall, accompanied by an increasing loss of vision. The main risk factors are smoking, hypertension, direct sunlight and obesity, pathophysiologically an accumulation with oxygen radicals and an oxygen deficit of the highly acidic (metabolic-active) macular cells. To compensate for both aspects, somatovital therapy (spiro like dermo vitalization) is an optimal basic therapy that optimizes both the transport of oxygen to the individual cells, its liberation there and its utilization in the mitochondria, with the result of increased ATPgeneration. Objective improvements in visual performance, but above all subjective reductions in the previous loss of sharp vision and the central field of vision as well as increases in general well-being are often supported by statements by sufferers such as their therapists.

More information about the video
Andreas Nieswandt, a naturopath from Düsseldorf (www.praxis-nieswandt.de), has been specializing in treating eye diseases such as macular degeneration, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy very effectively with gentle naturopathic methods for years. His patients come from all over the Republic to his naturopathic practice in Düsseldorf. Depending on the respective disease, in addition to special eye acupuncture and other therapies, he has been relying on spirovital therapy with AIRNERGY as a basic treatment for more than 10 years. Some of his patients have their own AIRNERGY device at home for spirovitalization. Especially in the case of age-related macular degeneration (AMD), optimal oxygen utilization (utilisation) is of paramount importance, because the eye is one of the strongest oxygen consumers in the organism, along with the heart and brain. The more often the spirovitalization can be used during therapy, as well as for other health disorders, the better for the general health status of the patient. Learn more in this video
